I agree....this was not a flattering portrayal of the governor or anyone with disabilities. Just because someone is blind does not mean that they wander around aimlessly mumbling to themselves. In a year of impressive work, SNL once again lowers the bar and creates an offensive portrayal of current events.
Bush's Response to Having a Shoe Thrown At Him
Bush's cavalier response to having a shoe thrown at him is utterly astonishing. This is one of the highest forms of disrespect in the Iraqi culture. No, it is not like someone flipping you off or yelling at you from a rally. As the commentator states, this gesture was done at the Saddam Hussein statue - this is the Iraqi's response to a dictator. Thank you, President Bush, for creating the notion that America is run by a dictator...and then just blowing it off. Astonishing.
