Its about time!

It's about time! The Ford CEO is agreeing to work for $1 a year if his company receives government bailout money....

I am by no means an expert on the auto industry (one might go so far as to say I am quite naive!), but from what I see with a novice eye, CEOs jet-setting around (literally!) and making multimillion dollar salaries just seems like highway robbery. Why should the American public pay so that these men can live in their life of high luxury? I also believe that limited or eliminating employee raises during this hard time is important as well... I strongly believe that employees should be paid a fair wage and should receive increases along with the cost of living. However, we are talking about complete collapse should these companies fail and so their employees are facing the prospect of no work or income at all. In this time when most of America is having to cut back and sacrifice, I don't think that this fair to ask all Americans to sacrifice so that a portion can receive additions at the cost of the government bailout.

But on a positive note, I am pleased that the CEOs of the auto companies are recognizing the sacrifices that will have to be made, not just for those on the assembly line, but for everyone in the company and the country.
